Based at Castle Howard, in the Howardian Hills National Landscape, we currently own one of the largest herds of native, rare breed Royal Golden Guernsey goats in the country. Able to live outdoors year round in harsh environments, our hardy goats are perfectly suited to maintain and improve habitats for wildlife. We offer a bespoke conservation grazing service, whether to maintain species rich grassland, woodland and heathland habitats, clear dense scrub and brambles, or remove swathes of dominant or invasive vegetation.
We collectively have 16 years experience working with rare, native breed livestock and have a strong background in conservation grazing and land management for wildlife, gaining experience in a variety of settings before going on to set up our own business.
Our animals are at the heart of what we do. We're only happy if they're happy too. We pride ourselves in providing the best welfare possible for all our animals, using low stress handling techniques and having the trust of our goats is key to our work.
We have a herd of 43 rare and native breed Royal Golden Guernsey goats who we know individually by name and personality
